WPC deckboards combine the strength and textural qualities of wood with the processability and weather resistance of plastic. Just like wood, WPC boards can be nailed, screwed and sawn but absorb much less water which means greater resistance to decay, cracking, and warping. Although higher in initial price than sold wood, WPC decking is more economical in the long run because it does not require post construction sealing, staining or painting; greatly reducing maintenance costs. The patented Strandex extrusion process produces a board that is 3 ½ times stronger than a similar sized decking from the leading competitors. Strandex licensees are offering warranties in excess of twenty years on their WPC decking because of its inherent durability.
